The BI Technical Functional Analyst serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, leveraging a deep understanding of business intelligence (BI) processes and data systems. The primary objective is to analyse business requirements, design effective BI solutions, and ensure the seamless integration and transformation of data through ETL processes. This role also involves contributing to the overall data architecture, fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization by delivering scalable and robust BI systems.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver timely and accurate BI reports, dashboards, and optimized ETL processes aligned with business needs.
- Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and maintainable data architecture and workflows.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and provide actionable BI solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry regulations.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in BI capabilities and workflows.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Make autonomous decisions regarding data visualization, ETL processes, and data model design.

You have…
- 3+ years in BI or data-related roles, working with tools like MicroStrategy or similar.
- Proven ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL processes (e.g., Pentaho).
- Strong background in SQL, data transformation, and data mapping.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle) and designing data pipelines.
- Familiarity with agile project methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Track record of managing projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality solutions.
Your knowledge & skills
- Expertise in advanced BI features, including custom reporting, drilldowns, and analytics.
- Proficiency with cloud-based BI solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data storage systems (e.g., Snowflake).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data lake architectures, and data modeling techniques.
- Advanced skills in Excel for ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Proficiency in descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with agile tools like JIRA or Trello for project management.
- Ability to design secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.
