As Head of Business Architect & Process Improvement, you will work hand-in-hand with the Technical Architect and PMO to maintain a future-proof business and technology architecture, you will manage the business portfolio of projects, balancing strategic priorities with organizational capabilities, and support the Continuous Improvement of internal and postal processes. This role will also collaborate with the Heads-Of at IPC to ensure regular insights into project progress are available.
The position facilitates the Operations service portfolio, integrating the project, program and services strategies within Operations. Managing data governance and data architecture to ensure the data foundations that support the architecture are available, coordinating business analysis to standardise and professionalise the business project portfolio, exploring IPC use-cases of Artificial Intelligence and leading the Proactive Performance Management team, the provision of continuous improvement services and the IPC Certification of Excellence program are all part of the role.
Key responsibilities
1. Business Strategy and Architecture Alignment
- Develop and maintain a domain-driven business architecture across all services
- Align business, information, and technology initiatives with IPC’s strategy
- Balance business and organizational capabilities to deliver effective solutions
- Coordinate business initiatives in line with the project portfolio
- Manage partnerships with IPC Technology Architecture and IPC PMO
2. Data Governance and Management
- Initiate and coordinate data governance across the organization
- Establish and maintain a data foundation to support business architecture
- Oversee the development of a data catalogue and data coordination
- Allocate business analysts to support data governance and project needs
3. Project Portfolio Management
- Provide insights into the progress of the business project portfolio
- Support the project portfolio with business analyst capacity
- Leverage cross-service efficiencies to optimize operations
- Manage relationships with business leads, service owners, and external stakeholders
- Offer subject matter expertise to both internal and external stakeholders
4. Solution & Process Improvement
- Lead the LEAN based process improvement initiatives along the postal business process model, reducing inefficiencies, and enhancing postal performance
- Lead the IPC Proactive Performance Management team with demonstrated performance improvement results
- Oversee the IPC Offices of Exchange Certification of Excellence program and it’s transition to an efficient, e-commerce supporting and UPU aligned program
- Implement best practices for continuous improvement across project, program, and service strategies
5. General Management
- Develop, monitor and manage the annual Business Architecture and Process Improvement budget
- Implement a revised team structure to support the new IPC strategic direction and maintain or exceed employee satisfaction levels

- Minimum ten years’ experience planning and analysis experience in operational management, business architecture and/or process design & improvement.
- Background in (systems) engineering in multiple business sectors
- Mail industry and/or cargo/freight industry experience is a plus
