Together with its subsidiary Spring, PostNL adds approximately 4 million liters of HVO100 to the European diesel network annually. This renewable diesel, made from waste and residual fats, reduces CO2 emissions by 90% compared to regular diesel. This initiative demonstrates PostNL's determination to play a significant role in making the transport sector more sustainable, especially in areas where electric trucks are not yet feasible.
RESULTS AND IMPACT
The switch to HVO100 directly supports PostNL's ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, according to the SBTi standard. By reducing annual CO2 emissions by up to 12 kilotons, this initiative lowers emissions by an amount equivalent to taking 5,000 petrol cars off the road for a year.* The use of HVO100 reinforces PostNL's position as a leader in the logistics sector, showing how companies can contribute on less emissions.
