For João Bento, CEO of CTT, "this commitment to Correios do Brasil is yet another expression of our important social role and of CTT's proximity to the Portuguese people, wherever they are. From now on, the Portuguese community in Brazil will have even easier access to postal services to Portugal, strengthening the ties and affinity between the two countries."
For Fabiano Silva dos Santos, President of ECT – Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos (Correios do Brasil), "as sister nations, we understand that this special attention to residents is necessary. This is the beginning of a partnership that will yield important results for the postal operations of both countries, which have historical social, cultural and commercial ties."
The two companies are committed to developing the services and products offered, operations and customer service in each company in their respective markets, covering the business areas in which both operate, such as mail, parcels, logistics and business support technology. In addition, it is planned to increase services to immigrant communities, considering the strong affinity between both countries and the relevance of the Portuguese community in Brazil and the Brazilian community in Portugal.
The established protocol also aims to evaluate potential joint investments in areas of collaboration, such as infrastructure, technologies (such as automatic parcel lockers), innovation and sustainability.
