Australia Post today announced a landmark partnership with Woolworths to install at least 500 24/7 Parcel Lockers in supermarkets across the country, providing shoppers with convenient parcel collection and returns. The free Parcel Lockers will be installed in Woolworths supermarkets across the country from this month.  Ahmed Fahour, Australia Post Managing Director & Group CEO, said as the eCommerce market continues to show encouraging growth, it is essential the country's largest eCommerce parcel company continues to innovate new customer services.

"Australian shoppers spent $20 billion online last year and this Christmas is expected to be the busiest ever for online shopping – with more than 60 per cent of all Australians expected to buy online," Mr Fahour said.  "This landmark partnership with Woolworths will provide our customers with more choice and convenience for parcel delivery than ever before.

"Instead of having your parcel sent to your home address you can have it sent directly to a 24/7 parcel locker so you never need to miss a delivery again. And best of all, it's absolutely free to use."

Brad Banducci, Woolworths CEO & MD Woolworths Food Group said the lockers will extend the existing Woolworths click&collect service for customers.

"We know our customers are busier than ever and are looking for greater convenience in everything they do," said Mr Banducci. "We've seen strong year on year growth of our customers shopping with us online, with many choosing the convenience of our click&collect service to pick up their shopping from our stores on their way home. This partnership with Australia Post now allows them to conveniently pick up their parcel when they do their grocery shopping in-store or pick up their online order  - giving them back important time in the day."

Customers simply need to add the Parcel Locker address to the 'to' field when checking out online, and a text or email will be sent when the parcel is available for collection.  The Parcel Lockers will be available to in selected locations from this month.
