International Post Corporation (IPC) is looking for a Business Architect to support the Chief Operations Officer within the Operations department

Job description

As Business Architect, you will work hand-in-hand with the Technical Architect and PMO to maintain a future-proof business and technology architecture, balance strategic priorities with organizational capabilities and manage the business portfolio of projects and provide regular insights into progress.

This role will also collaborate with the Heads-Of at IPC to ensure regular project progress reports are available. The position is the “glue” that integrates the project, program and services strategies across multiple programs and projects. The architect will engage with data governance and data architecture to ensure the data foundations that support the architecture are available and the business architect will provide business analyst support to standardise and professionalise the business project portfolio. 

Key responsibilities

1. Business Strategy and Architecture Alignment

  • Develop and maintain a domain-driven business architecture across all services.
  • Align business, information, and technology initiatives with IPC’s strategy.
  • Balance business and organizational capabilities to deliver effective solutions.
  • Coordinate business initiatives in line with the project portfolio.
  • Manage partnerships with Technology Architecture and IPC PMO.


2. Data Governance and Management

  • Initiate and coordinate data governance across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain a data foundation to support business architecture.
  • Oversee the development of a data catalogue and data coordination.
  • Allocate business analysts to support data governance and project needs.


3. Project and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Provide insights into the progress of the business project portfolio.
  • Support the project portfolio with business analyst capacity.
  • Leverage cross-service efficiencies to optimize operations.
  • Manage relationships with business leads, service owners, and external stakeholders.
  • Offer subject matter expertise to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Master’s degree in related fields and appropriate professional qualifications
  • Minimum ten years’ experience planning and analysis experience in business solutions
  • Background in (systems) engineering in multiple business sectors
  • Mail industry and/or cargo/freight industry experience is a plus

  • Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in Business Architecture and Modelling domain driven models.
  • Knowledge of data governance capabilities and practical implementation.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal (presentations, seminars) and written (reports, articles).
  • Group session facilitation and team leadership skills.
  • Marketing skills (for “selling” the results of architectural designs).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Modelling and graphical representation skills.
  • Structured and well organized.
