SENATOR, which has a duration of 54 months and is subsidized by the Horizon 2020 Program of the European Commission, began in September 2020 and will end in February 2025

Under the coordination of Correos, with the support of the consultancy Zabala Innovation Consulting, the eleven participating partners are working together to obtain a solution that facilitates mobility in European cities. The partners include An Post, Ireland's designated postal operator, the city councils of Zaragoza and Dublin, where the project pilots are being carried out, the universities of Deusto and Dublin, as well as the technology companies Rina C, Dotgis, Software AG and MDST.

SENATOR is a European project that aims to make cities sustainable through logistics and urban planning solutions. SENATOR is developing a platform that will optimize goods delivery services in urban areas. This will act as a control tower for last-mile logistics operations, as it will facilitate collaboration between citizens, carriers, logistics operators and municipalities (which manage urban space).

SENATOR has brought together multiple stakeholders in the logistics sector in both Zaragoza and Dublin, thus offering the opportunity to work towards the common goal of a greener city.

SENATOR's platform will use real-time information and artificial intelligence to make order delivery routes more efficient and, for example, can anticipate unforeseen deliveries to put solutions in place.

The European Project SENATOR, in its final year of implementation, is delivering successful pilots in Zaragoza and conducting insightful simulations in Dublin. These cities are designated as the Urban Living Labs where the solutions are tested with an aim to enhance efficiency in real-world environment, ensuring the project’s replicability and sustainability.
