PostNL started to deliver packages using LEVVs in inner cities. These light electric cargo vehicles are completely emission-free and a lot smaller than an ordinary delivery van. .This is good for the climate and the environment. By using these vehicles, PostNL is helping to keep cities livable.
City-friendly parcel delivery
PostNL aims for emission-free delivery in 25 inner cities by 2025 and emission-free delivery of all packages and mail in the last mile by 2030. Together with various governments and other companies, PostNL signed the Green Deal Zero Emission Urban Logistics in that context. The introduction of the LEVVs fulfills the ambition to organize city logistics more sustainably and smartly. PostNL is already delivering with LEVV’s in the inner cities of Ghent, Amersfoort, Groningen, Arnhem, Amsterdam, Den Bosch and The Hague.
Sustainable delivery
PostNL is constantly working on innovations and solutions to contribute to a more sustainable society. The LEVVs are part of the more than 2,100 electric vehicles deployed by PostNL. The LEVVs were developed specifically for PostNL and are manufactured in the Netherlands. They are 100% electric, consume 5-10 times less than an electric bus and are charged via a normal power outlet.
