Ten years ago, postal operators were among the first to launch a sector-wide programme to measure and reduce carbon emissions through IPC’s Environmental Measurement and Monitoring System (EMMS).
Ten years later, the participating posts reached the targets set in 2009: to reduce combined carbon emissions from own operations by 20% and to achieve a score of at least 90% in carbon management proficiency (CMP).
To celebrate this success, IPC released a publication showing the results of the EMMS programme.
