Mark Harrison, Head of Markets at International Post Corporation (IPC) presented IPC’s e-Commerce roadmap at Post-Expo 2013, the world postal business forum organised in association with the Universal Postal Union, which took place from 1 to 3 October in Vienna.
Speaking at the Operations and Technology Conference session on 'E-commerce and parcels - opportunities to be part of this fast-growing market', he highlighted that cross-border e-Commerce could lead to additional revenue of €1.2bn a year by 2020. Through IPC, leading postal operators cooperate to boost cross-border e-Commerce and set the foundations for a seamless global network for cross-border e-Commerce.
Post-Expo sessions addressed the issues and challenges faced by postal and parcel operators and looked at the latest applications and innovations. Sessions included: mobile data and connectivity, moving mail and logistics, handling mail and parcels efficiently, digital and physical convergence, last-mile delivery and the post office reinvented.
