Bucharest, May 27, 2026 – The National Company "Poșta Română" inaugurated today the Bucharest Regional Logistics and Courier Hub, a strategic project that marks a new stage in the process of modernization and development of the company's logistics infrastructure.

The new hub was developed by modernizing the former Bucharest Transit Center, inaugurated by the Romanian Post in 1975. To renovate and transform it into a modern logistics center, the Company made investments of approximately 50 million lei.

The event took place at the Hub located on Calea Giulești no. 6-8 in Bucharest, in the presence of representatives of government authorities, public institutions, international postal operators, as well as the company's strategic partners.

The official opening was supported by Valentin Ștefan, CEO of Poșta Română, who presented the company's strategic directions and the objectives of the new logistics investment. He pointed out that investments in regional hubs, automation and smart technologies represent a strategic priority for increasing operational performance and consolidating Poșta Română's position on the logistics and courier services market.

The event was attended as speakers by: Oana Clara Gheorghiu, Deputy Prime Minister, Sebastian Burduja, Honorary Advisor to the Prime Minister, Géza Láng- CEO of the Hungarian Post, Ciprian Teleman, former Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization, Florin Ciobanu- Managing Director of Isitec System Romania, video intervention - Tadas Drunga-Omniva, Marjan Osvald-Deputy Director of the Universal Postal Union.

The symbolic moment of the inauguration included the activation of the sorting line and the operational start of the hub, marking the entry into operation of one of the most modern logistics infrastructures in the company's network.

The Bucharest Regional Logistics and Courier Hub is an essential component of the extensive investment and digitalization program carried out by Poșta Română at the national level. The company is developing a modern network consisting of eight regional hubs. So far, the centers in Cluj-Napoca, Galați, Oradea, Timișoara and Bucharest have been completed, and other hubs are under development in Craiova, Brașov, Roman and Deva.

The new infrastructure integrates advanced sorting and automation technologies, capable of optimizing logistics flows and significantly increasing operational performance. The Bucharest hub can process approximately 7,000 parcels per hour and contributes to the efficiency of courier and parcel services at a national level. Currently, the total sorting capacity of the Romanian Post exceeds 500,000 parcels per day across the entire logistics network.

A distinctive element of the new hub is the two modern equipment dedicated to sorting mail, with a processing capacity of up to 40,000 envelopes per hour.

During the event, guests participated in a guided tour of the logistics center, where operational flows, automatic sorting systems, areas dedicated to receiving and shipping parcels, as well as technological solutions developed to support e-commerce and modern logistics activities were presented.

Through this strategic investment, Poșta Română reaffirms its commitment to modernizing the logistics infrastructure and developing postal and courier services aligned with European standards and the current needs of customers and partners.
