Joeri Hofmans

Joeri Hofmans is Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. He obtained his PhD from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2007 and held a postdoctoral position at the research group of quantitative psychology and individual differences of the University of Leuven. He was also a visiting research fellow at the University of California, San Diego and the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
His primary academic interests are in the areas of personality, leadership, motivation and work performance. Prof. Hofmans has published over 90 academic papers in journals such as Harvard Business Review, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organization Science, and Leadership Quarterly and is the recipient of several academic awards, including the 2017 SIOP Hogan Award for Personality and Work Performance.
Next to his academic career, Prof. Hofmans has been involved in several industry-funded projects and also advises organisations in issues regarding Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development. He is also co-founder of Twegos, an HR tech company specialised in the assessment and prediction of values-based culture fit.
Georg Pölzl
Georg Pölzl has been Chairman of the Board and CEO of Österreichische Post since 1 October 2009. He consistently focuses on both the business and the services of Österreichische Post.
Georg started his professional career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. He then joined the board of Binder & Co AG, a machinery and processing plant construction company. Subsequently, he was the head of T-Mobile Austria in Vienna for nine years. He continued his career in Germany as a special commissioner to the management board of Deutsche Telekom, where he was charge of implementing the successful restructuring programme. Before joining Österreichische Post, he was the spokesperson of the board at T-Mobile Germany.
Herna Verhagen
Herna Verhagen has served as the Chief Executive Officer of PostNL since April 2012. Prior her current role, Herna served as Member of the Board of Management.
Herna joined PostNL as a Sales Manager in 1991 and continued in the company as the Marketing & Sales Director, Coordinating Managing Director Mail NL and the Managing Director Group HR of TNT.
Herna is a member of the supervisory board of Rexel S.A and Actelion Ltd. She is also a member of the executive committee and general board of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) as well as member of the supervisory board of the Concertgebouw.
David Walsh
David Walsh became Chief Executive in May 2017.
David joined the Group in February 2015 as Chief Financial Officer having previously held the position of General Manager Corporate and Finance at KiwiRail. He has experience in a wide range of industries, with complex infrastructure, consumer products and services and leading large change projects.
David Walsh has also held roles such as the Chief Operating and Chief Financial Officer at New Zealand Racing Board, and senior finance roles at Fonterra and TransAlta.
Mark Harrison
Moderator
Mark Harrison joined IPC in 2002 and is the Head of Markets.
Mark’s team is focused on global e-commerce, the global postal industry performance and postal sector sustainability. The team provides reporting and analysis on trends affecting the strategic direction of the postal industry.
Mark was responsible for launching the IPC Environmental Measurement and Monitoring System in 2009 to measure participant's carbon management proficiency, carbon performance indicators and emissions. Since its launch, emissions for the postal sector have been reduced by 15.3 million tonnes, saving €1.7bn of costs and achieving the 20% emissions reduction target six years ahead of schedule.
Mark also established the annual IPC Cross-Border E-Commerce Shopper Survey. In 2018 over 33,500 consumers across 41 countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific and North & South America were researched to determine their preferences and experiences in order to help postal operators improve their delivery performance.
Prior to IPC, Mark worked for Royal Mail for 14 years in both the International and Electronic Service business units where he undertook a variety of marketing and operational roles.
