Lower access to global supply chain capacity, increased prices and higher demand for reduced emission solutions brought IPC and its members to develop CRONOS. CRONOS offers reliable, compliant and flexible solution that produces less emissions. CRONOS provides a competitive service, while increasing visibility, ensuring capacity and providing a consistent transportation solution throughout Europe.

How does it work?

Through CRONOS, mail and parcels are transported from origin posts to destination posts in Europe through a dedicated central Hub, through a clocked network. The transport capacity is optimised by using IPC Pallet Boxes. Visibility is ensured by using Pallet Box labels with RFID tags and by installing RFID gates and IPC Mail Registration Devices (MRDs) at the Hub to monitor each Pallet Box arriving and departing from the Hub.

The end-to-end flows are being proactively managed, to ensure meeting the required level of service. The solution offers fly-in options for posts outside of Europe, that includes full synchronisation with their flight’s schedule and needs.
